Electric Insurance was established in 1966 to provide insurance services to General Electric employees.  Their product lineup includes homeowner insurance, renters and condo insurance, watercraft and motorcycle insurance, and of course, auto insurance.  It has taken its services into the public marketplace and currently about half its customers have no connection with General Electric.  Their market coverage is widespread, as the company is licensed in forty seven states.  The company has also, in recent years, joined the ranks of online direct marketers for insurance.
